If anyone wants to step in and work on it, that's OK. The packages belong to the community and openSUSE (same goes for MATE which is in a working state). I have really not much motivation to work those out, while Unity was my first big adventure and I have still something stuck in my throat about failing on it (as we say in Portugal: 'ainda me está atravessado na garganta').
If someone wants to step up for MATE or Cinnamon, just drop me an email and I'll grant ownership for maintenance, as long as the repos are properly taken care of and not to happen what happened to GNOME:Ayatana which is really sad to look after hundreds of work hours on it.

There are latest packages in home:cyberorg:cinnamon, but can't commit for long term maintenance, even though there are just 2 packages.
I spent almost a week with Linux Mint (both the 13 / Ubuntu and Debian / "rolling release" versions) with both MATE and Cinnamon. Their version (both desktops) look remarkably like the old openSUSE 11.x GNOME 2 "slab" interface. The Linux Mint color scheme is lovely and the overall UI is better than Unity, but I'm very happy with "stock" GNOME 3 or GNOME 3 fallback mode on weaker graphics cards. I really don't see the point of MATE and Cinnamon except for people who can't stand Unity. Then again, I'm happy with LXDE - more RAM for the browser and R! ;-)
Like gnome-shell, cinnamon got nice fallback mode too "cinnamon2d" Cheers -J -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
