I have seen some home-Repos in OBS that hold acpi_calls, but still dont get the point why this is not in our standard delivery.
It doesn't seem like anyone has tried to submit Base:System/acpi_call to Factory yet. Maybe just check if the package looks good to you and then file a request?
Sure, that is always an option. And the better one in the long run
The license seems to be fine, and the specfile doesn't look like it violates any guidelines. Of course the description says
This module is to be considered a proof-of-concept and has been superseeded by projects like bbswitch.
If now bbswitch doesn't work for you and acpi_call is the only thing that does, you might perhaps suggest changing that part.
On newer Laptops with Optimus chipset and use of Nvidia drivers bbswitch breaks Power management, see e.g. https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1194197 so there is a justification for the acpi_call package I will give it a try! Thanks Axel
