I have no "pam_fp line" and I see no update at all.
Symptoms:
- No text consoles. - In gnome, I can "su -" to root, but Yast only works in ncurses mode. I tried "yast2", "yast", "yast --qt", and in all cases I get the ncurses mode yast. - Going the menu route, yast does not start and I see no error. - If I log in as root, in Gnome, I get the graphical Yast.
Making the change suggested in the bug report worked for me on the 2nd issue. I'll create a bug report, if there's not one already, for the 1st issue.
Well, it doesn't for me. As I said, I have no "pam_fp" line in /etc/pam.d/common-auth, so I can not remove it as the bug report suggests. Also I see no updates, YOU says there are none: ] YaST2 - online_update @ minas-morgul ] ] Initializing Online Update ] ] x Initialize the target system ] x Refresh software repositories ] => Check for available updates ] ] ] ] ┌─────────────────────────────────────────┐ ] │ No active update repository available. │ ] │ Exit Online Update now? │ ] │ │ ] │ [Yes] [No] │ ] └─────────────────────────────────────────┘ ] ] ] ] Checking for available updates... ] 100% ] ] ] [Help] [Back] [Abort] [Next] ] ] F1 Help F9 Abort I can su without problems. I still can not use Yast in graphical mode. I still have no txt consoles. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
