The basic user interface would still remain as integrated with the desktop as it is now, I was not talking of a garish theme that makes firefox look like a rain forest, but a subtle one that makes it look more attractive. I also do not see how something like a theme could confuse users in any way.
Of course appearance can confuse. If you see an app, that looks odd and out of place you don't want to use it.
And I don't think Personas allow creating subtle themes as they're using images and I'm not sure if when they're semi-transparent, the background is the native window bg color or black.
It's better to keep native.
If you want to create something, do it and share on KDE-Look, deviantART and others but do not expect that everything you do will land as default in default branding ;) .
Talking about confusing: doesn't Safari look strange on Windows? If it were default on Windows, then it would confuse users after an upgrade, before they get used to expect strange appearance.
Sometimes, users tend to think, what they should do with an app, that look so strange and even to resign of using it.
