For 42.3 apparently gtk2 is used. For 15.3 clearly gtk3 is used.
Is this difference purposeful or necessary? Menu fonts in 15.0 are hugely smaller, not approximating the DE font size used by other apps, while in 42.3 they seem to be a perfect match.
I cannot remember all details. IIRC the reason is that upstream official is already Gtk3 for 52. So the usage of Gtk2 for 42.3 is just a fallback to not break unexpected/untested things. Therefore the move to Leap 15 series was a good opportunity to switch because we had to anyway.
