I cant even get Samba started. According to usingsamba.pdf I need to start two daemons. # /usr/local/samba/bin/smbd -D # /usr/local/samba/bin/nmbd -D I installed Samba from Yast, SuSE 6.3 but these commands fail with the message: No such file or directory. Also, when I run smbstatus I get an error: Couldnt open status file /var/lock/samba/STATUS..LCK Could anyone advise? regards Richard richard@tortoise.demon.co.uk
