Check to see if you have a netlogon directory and the correct path is set
in the smb.conf file. This could be the problem with the message:
No such file or directory.

Subject: [suse-linux-uk-schools] Starting
Samba
I've got a bit of time to play with my Linux box
again.
I cant even get Samba started.
According to usingsamba.pdf
I need to start two daemons.
# /usr/local/samba/bin/smbd -D
#
/usr/local/samba/bin/nmbd -D
I installed Samba from Yast, SuSE 6.3 but
these commands fail with
the message:
No such file or
directory.
Also, when I run smbstatus I get an error:
Couldnt open
status file /var/lock/samba/STATUS..LCK
Could anyone
advise?
regards
Richard
