Assuming it's USB storage device it should pretend to be a SCSI drive. Most likely either /dev/sda or /dev/sda1 possibly /dev/sda4. Best thing to try would be "fdisk /dev/sda" then "p" to see what partitions the device has. -- Mark Evans St. Peter's CofE High School Phone: +44 1392 204764 X109 Fax: +44 1392 204763

Could try "cat /proc/scsi/scsi" too. If it is being SCSI and was connected after start-up, you may need to echo a command into there first http://webdocs.essex.ac.uk/LDP/HOWTO/SCSI-2.4-HOWTO/index.html and http://webdocs.essex.ac.uk/LDP/HOWTO/SCSI-2.4-HOWTO/mlproc.html -- MJR/slef My Opinion Only and possibly not of any group I know. http://mjr.towers.org.uk/ jabber://slef@jabber.at Creative copyleft computing services via http://www.ttllp.co.uk/ Thought: "Changeset algebra is really difficult."
