Hi Roger,
No similarities between you and the Mullah Nasruddin I hope! :-)
Well, no, but yes in a way - those who know telling those who don't and those who don't asking those who do is very useful. I hope the list will prosper because it becomes a good place to do this.
Sorry to take to long before coming out to play again. You were right, It was a disk size problem. My 1Gig is split 8M Boot, 64M Swap and the rest native LINUX.
I have to agree with Kuldip Singh a 1gGig drive ought to be big enough for most OS especially one that hypes itself as being fast and compact. Even running YaST (1) (which looks like an old DOS program) it is dreadfully slow running a on a P75 and 16meg of EDO (agreed more RAM would probably help)
Yast is slow even on a fast machine because it configures a lot of things after installing something for you.
I am about to par down my installation and have another go.
With reference to Intel Inside. and Paul's reply
Trades Desciption Act?? Intel Inside DOES describe the chipset on the mainboard, I fear
Actually it says Intel Processor inside, and may have any one of a number of chipsets on the motherboard - I have been trying to contact Tiny over this since... A. AMD ain't Intel (re Patents etc.), but rather a copy, although they may be faster. B. AMD are cheaper than Intel!
Guess what, they bounce me from department to department until I get a phone that is not answered!
This is a really interesting story ...
Adrian
