This statement:implies you change SUSE_INSTALL_SOURCE, which contains /mnt/$SUSE_VERSION Fill in the correct installation path, ideally a path where the DVD media/iso is mounted for example "/mnt/10.3". Or a network installation path such as "http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3/repo/oss/"
Shouldn't you really change SUSE_VERSION to the installed openSUSE version? Otherwise there will be a mismatch elsewhere, such as in KIWIPATH, KIWINBPATH, etc.
If so, possibly the statement needs revised.
