Ps Anyone going to Novell HQ on Tuesday for the Linux seminar? --
If this seminar is another in the series that Novell are doing to promote their newly acquired SuSE product Then dont expect too much in the way of Linux specifics!. In the one I attended in Leeds last week, the opening and closing bits were dire, the 2nd up was a talk by a chap from IBM, which was well presented and interesting, albeit not directly related to SuSE. The bulk of the day was given up a role place scenario between two Novell people who wanted to demonstrate the ease of use and implementation of SuSE in a corporate environment. The main problem I had with all this was that it was heavily promoting all shiny and GUI bolt on bits that potentially cost a fortune and would be prohibitive to Edu. (Well it will be to us anyway!). Their main announcement was that that NetWARE 7 - Now called Open Enterprise Server will be launched early in December. Summary - The goody-bag and the lunch were good and there was some interesting bits. Phil Brown (Sorry I'm new to posting here, so I should have introduced myself 1st - will do that bit soon)
