[opensuse-buildservice] Cannot login to obs - "user not registered with iChain"
Hi all, I'm trying to login to OBS for the first time from the webui, but i get this error: OBS Web Interface Error: Unauthorized Access You need to log in to perform the operation. Please contact the openSUSE admin to get an account. Error Details: Errorcode: 401 Message: Your user is not yet registered with iChain I used the same account I use for the wiki. Have I to do something particular or is this an OBS bug? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Daniel Z. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org
Two choices: Enable LDAP support, which will allow you to use domain accounts to login to OBS. The api service will add LDAP accounts to the OBS api user list during the intial login. Or Add accounts directly to the OBS api (frontend) via the api url. Access to the api url is secured by the Admin account. Thanks - JeffG -----Original Message----- From: Daniel Z. Sorry If I was not so clear, I was talking about build.opensuse.org. Have you any solution? The account should have been automatically added to the build service user list.

Daniel, If you don't know, a brand new authentication system was just rolled out yesterday. It was rushed out the door due to problems with the old system. iChain was the old system and I don't think is still in use. Maybe you need to flush your browser cache's or something to get rid of any remnant iChain client setup. FYI: I just logged in from a fresh Firefox instance with no issues. Thank you for the reply, but I just tried to delete all cookies, cache and so on from Firefox and I get the same error. I tried with Opera (flushed and re-flushed) too, no results. I don't know what to do now. Is OBS distributed like Mirrorbrain? If so, it could be that the mirror you're using didn't get the update. I'm over my head at this point and have no advice. I can't find such an error string in our OBS code (neither the new one nor the old one) and also not on our login proxy. Are you sure that exactly this was the error message ? Can you try to do some actions with the CLI (osc) ? It asks for login & passwort. If it fails, please send the output of osc -H ls as private mail to me. -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org
There was a bug in our code of OBS which lead to the situation that new registered users where not allowed to login. Please try again to login now. It should work now. bye adrian Am Mittwoch, 20. April 2011, 20:04:28 schrieb Daniel Z.:
