[opensuse-buildservice] Fedora 5 End of life?

Hi, Isn't Fedora 5 end of life? Any reason it's still in the build service? Wade --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

A followup question: is there any plan to add Fedora 8 and Ubuntu 7.10 in the near future? FWIW I feel that it's still useful having Fedora 5 support. But only just. Cheers JP Wade Berrier wrote:

Right, Fedora:Core5 and Fedora:Extras5 project have been deleted and all repositories building against it as well ... You may want to check your projects and add Fedora7 instead of it. bye adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) email: adrian@suse.de --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

OUCH! I have got an in-house server that I maintain (admittedly needing an update) that was using bespoke packages built and hosted on Build Service. Can I suggest that there be some form on notification system put in place before software repositories are summarily deleted? Obviously you are not in the business of providing free hosting and backup etc etc but it would be nice to have a chance to remove my files offline first, for example. Can I ask again what the plans there are, if any, for adding Ubuntu 7.10 and the very-soon-to-be-released Fedora 8? I know you guys probably have priorities relating to SUSE dev/support but please recognise that your Build Service is of huge value to the wider linux community, and developers like me wanting to ensure support for a range of systems, so whatever you can do to provide stable and ongoing support for these other distros is very much appreciated. An Ubuntu:7.10 project does exist now. However the configuration might not be final yet, but you can test build against it already. bye adrian
Cheers JP

I see it now, thanks for that. FWIW I note that one can't easily access it using the 'Add Repository' page on the Web UI, one must click 'Advanced' then search down for 'Ubuntu' (and note the ambiguity about xUbuntu and Ubuntu that results). Is this because you still want some testing before you make it fully visible? Cheers JP
bye adrian
Cheers JP

yes, it will be added there, but I would like to see some more testing. bye adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) email: adrian@suse.de --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org
