gcc 4.5 is about to get checked in into openSUSE_Factory AFAIK.
Under what package name, er, that is, how do I check for when this has actually happened? What should I search for?
you can check at any time via "osc ls openSUSE:Factory gcc" or use the web interface to go there.
Ah, you could also monitor the package via hermes.opensuse.org, if it is interessting enough for you ;)

OK I got gcc-45 to be installed for opensuse-factory by putting BuildRequires: gcc45-c++ rather than BuildRequires: gcc-c++ this line shows it loaded. installing gcc45-c++-4.5.0_20100115-1.1 But the ./configure line claim there is no C++ compiler checking for xgettext... (cached) /usr/bin/xgettext checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-g++... no checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-c++... no checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-gpp... no checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-aCC... no checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-CC... no checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-cxx... no checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-cc++... no checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-cl.exe... no checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-FCC... no checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-KCC... no checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-RCC... no checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-xlC_r... no checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-xlC... no What do I have to put on the ./configure line to make it use the other C++ compiler is it CC=gcc-45 CXX=g++-45 to define envinronment varriables or something else? Or perhaps I should ask this on opensuse-packaging? -- Paul Elliott 1(512)837-1096 pelliott@BlackPatchPanel.com PMB 181, 11900 Metric Blvd Suite J http://www.free.blackpatchpanel.com/pme/ Austin TX 78758-3117
