How to configure build failure notification mails in self-hosted OBS

Hi all, I'm interested in how to enable failed build notification emails in a self-hosted OBS installation. I tried RTFM but couldn't find anything about this topic in the administration guide at https://openbuildservice.org/help/manuals/obs-admin-guide/ Do I have to run a local MTA on the OBS master itself? Or can I somehow configure a SMTP host (+ credentials for authenticated SMTP) ? Thanks in advance. Might be worth adding a sentence about this to the manual, too.
