Have you also done the verifying step (Kontoverifizierung)?

indeed this was missing. For the record: One can change to mail address used by OBS at the Self-Service Tab "Kontozugang schützen"/ "Change E-Mail Address", but this does not trigger a verification mail which has to be requested manually at "Kontoverifizierung"/"Verify E-Mail Address". After verifying the new mail address is used by OBS upon next login. Thanks at all for providing the clues. Best regards Jan-Luca
