Hi,
I would like to create a build server for OSS running on AIX since the support from IBM for OSS on AIX is pretty marginal. ... So the question I have: - Does the OpenSuse build system is suitable /usable for such a task ... However, I guess you want to build rpm packages for AIX, right ? So you could try to build such a package with the build script from build.rpm on AIX.
I have taken a look at the build.rpm. It will not be able to create a chroot environment but this is on AIX not a big problem. As far as I understand the tool osc ( written in python ) is needed. The readme says that other python modules needed as well. I will see if I can install them on AIX. But which python version is needed as a minimum ? As mentioned already I would like to have the some software versions later on AIX as compared to a given OpenSuse Software version. The question which arise here is simply - how do I know which software versions are used for a given OpenSuse version ? - Is there a way to build for a given Software version with osc ? tia Hajo In case the OBS project needs a IBM power5 machine I can provide a VM running either Suse Linux or AIX for free use and accessible via the internet ( 2 shared p5 2.1 GHz CPUs , 10GB disk space and 1.25 GB RAM ) Nry隊Z)z{.Wlzqﮞ˛m)z{.+Z+ib*'jW(fvǦj)hǛ)]Ǿi
