What I was hoping for is SeaMonkey >2.40 built with GTK2, but there's no SM among any mozilla:/ repos that I could find, and nothing to be found using https://software.opensuse.org/search either. :-(
Seamonkey - according to their webpage - have no version higher than 2.40. Actually some weeks ago I prepared a newer version based on a VCS tag which I also have built against Gtk2. This is currently lingering in mozilla instead > but
VCS _tag_? Lingering??? Aren't such things part of why mozilla:/alpha/* and mozilla:/beta/* exist?
not published because I haven't seen an official release yet.
Myriad changes in the construction process caused by FF changes have overpowered the SM team's resource pool for nearly a year: https://blog.seamonkey-project.org/2016/12/01/face-the-music/ That said, there are public unofficial 2.46 and 2.47 builds available, but they are built with GTK3: https://unofficialseamonkeynews.wordpress.com/ For some people, among them me, GTK3 presents serious usability problems: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1269145 open https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1269149 open https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1269274 wontfix, but more realistically probably cantfix, because of upstream in GTK wontfix Maybe someday we could see workaround for Gnome devs' attitude problem: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367499 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98909 What I'm actually using is a GTK2 build: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 SeaMonkey/2.46; Build ID: 20161005013219 But it came from someplace I cannot remember any details about, other than getting a source URI from irc://moznet/#seamonkey -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
