From comment #2, it seems everything works correctly until the warning appears. Is that true?

These disassociations aren't from the kernel - they're from wpa_supplicant deciding it didn't like the connection for some reason. I see them all the time on my x300. They're pretty obnoxious.
They more likely come from NetworkManager. Or do you have it switched off? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Actually, you could be right. When I disable wpa_supplicant, NM can't find networks anymore. It could be either. I guess the point I was trying to make is that the disconnects aren't a kernel issue. But you already knew that. :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Helmut, is there a way to get the full output of wpa_supplicant started by NetworkManager?

Yes, I can reproduce it. I'm attaching logfiles.
Have you forgot to attach them? I hope it's not caused by me not having enough rights to see them :-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

it failed sometime during 11.1 development and I'm not sure when exactly.
Maybe when our environment changed to not accept TKIP anymore and forces the use of CCMP (and thus WPA2 only). AFAIK some wpa_supplicant features (like PMKSA caching) only are available when using WPA2. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Although the patch fixes the oops, I don't think it fixes the connection problem - see comment 27.
Agreed. I have at least one detailed bug in wpa_supplicant which only hits roaming environments (bnc#467980). That might explain why Andreas only has problems using the Novell net and not his private one. Nevertheless I'll close this bug as FIXED now. Andreas, if you run into the disconnection issue again please reopen, attach yourself to bnc#467980 (if appropriate) or open a new bug. Thanks. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
