The messages only appear on this XPS 15 Dell system, but not on other Dell laptops or desktop machines. The BIOS is up to date, any chance to avoid these ugly messages in future kernels? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Since a few days and after each "zypper up" the system now shows a kernel panic and does not start anymore. I am not shure if this has to do with the acpi issue, but now it is severe, not only "ugly", therefore I raised severity.
Which kernel are you testing? Leap 15.1? If so, it's still supposed to be fairly unstable, and many bugs are present. Please be patient for a while. OTOH, if it's Leap 15.0 kernel, it must be another bug. The ACPI errors in the original bug report shouldn't bring that at all. In that case, please check again the latest Leap 15.0 kernel. A new update kernel is in its way and will be released soon. Meanwhile it can be found in update-test repo.
The only way to boot is to return to an older btrfs read-only snapshot and make this snapshot readable again (snapper rollback). But after the next (automatic) update the problem appears again.
I add some logs, but I am not shure if they are helpful. Please advice...

Base on DSDT and SSDT, there have different reasons for different AE_NOT_FOUND error: - For _SB_.PCI0.XHC_.RHUB.HS11 This is the same issue likes some Dell machines. It's already fixed in openSUSE Leap 15.1 kernel. This issue will not be fixed in openSUSE Leap 15.0 because the ACPICA must be updated. - For \_SB_.PCI0.LPCB.H_EC.* I didn't find any definition for H_EC in DSDT or SSDT. I think that this AE_NOT_FOUND error will not be workaround even on ACPICA. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

It looks like it is probably much the same area as this problem. I can provide more info if you tell me how to produce it.

I didn't see AE_NOT_FOUND in your log. I don't think that it's the same issue.
Should I raise it as a separate bug or wait and see what happens with 15.1? My system does not appear to be impacted by the error report. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

If you do care the error message. Then please file another bug and attached dmesg and acpidump result. Sometimes those messages are because handicapped acpi table. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
