[Bug 959704] New: When upgrading (zypper dup), grub looses the default option
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=959704 Bug ID: 959704 Summary: When upgrading (zypper dup), grub looses the default option Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: 2015* Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Bootloader Assignee: jsrain@suse.com Reporter: elchevive68@gmail.com QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Hi, In my grub I have set as default other system than openSUSE, Win10. But sometimes after a zypper dup, the default option is overriden to Tumbleweed. To restore the correct behaviour I have to run mkinitrd manually after zypper dup. I guess that some packages that recreates the mkinitrd doesn't run it in "full mode". Michael Chang
Looking at the lists, I can see following candidates which could change the BL configuration:
- shim - openSUSE-release (for changing the DISTRIBUTOR field)
However, neither of them makes much sense regarding change of the default section, nor does call of mkinitrd to fix it.
Are you sure that the default was changed exactly by one of these packages?
Michael, are there any conditions when default could change without actually adding/removing sections?
Depending on how you specify the default, if you use index number to the section then it could be shifted by adding or removing sections. If you use title name then it should be fine unless the matched section was deleted. @ Luiz: Please help to attach the following output of 'grub2-editenv list' your grub.cfg for the wrong default your grub.cfg for the correct default And please help to stat what's the title be your default in the attached grub.cfg during booting. Thanks. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
