[Bug 227045] New: build not in expected pattern
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=227045 Summary: build not in expected pattern Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Patterns AssignedTo: aj@novell.com ReportedBy: dominique.leuenberger@tmf-group.com QAContact: aj@novell.com Hi, Just installed a 10.2 final. The build script is not in the pattern I would expect it (RPM Build Environment), but it can be found in the Linux Kernel Development pattern (might be useful there too, but probably much less then generic RPM Build Environment). At least to be considered for a fix for an upcoming release. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=227045 ------- Comment #1 from dominique.leuenberger@tmf-group.com 2007-01-02 09:31 MST ------- I think I was drunk when I installed the 10.2 the first time. Just reinstalled another notebook and verified this. build is found where expected. So for me you can close this report. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=227045 ------- Comment #2 from suse-beta@cboltz.de 2007-01-02 16:53 MST ------- "build" is in the following development patterns (german with guessed english name): - Grundlegende Entwicklung (basic development) - RPM Build-Umgebung (RPM build environment) - Linux Kernel-Entwicklung (Linux kernel development) I don't really understand why it is listed in "kernel development", but not in KDE, Gnome or C/C++ development pattern. In fact, it could be part of all development patterns because it is useful in each of them. Or, to make things simpler, it could just be part of "RPM build environment" (it belongs there for obvious reasons) and maybe "basic development" (which is a must for developments) . My proposal is to remove "build" from the kernel development pattern unless there is a very special reason to have it there ;-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=227045 aj@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution| |FIXED ------- Comment #3 from aj@novell.com 2007-01-17 03:21 MST ------- "Basic development" is required by other patterns, e.g. devel_kernel. I'm removing build now from devel_kernel and consider this one fixed for 10.3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
