[Bug 271754] New: GNOME Settings Daemon does start properly on log in
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=271754 Summary: GNOME Settings Daemon does start properly on log in Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: craigwharding@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de I get the following screen pop up every time I log into gnome: --------- # Start of pop-up window There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon. Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly. The last error message was: The name org.gnome.SettingsDaemon was not provided by any .service files GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in. # End of pop-up window ----------------- I did an upgrade from openSuSe 10.0 to 10.2. I have to manually run gnome-settings-daemon from /opt/gnome/lib/control-center-2.0/ everytime I log in to get my settings (font sizes, etc) to reflect properly in gnome. Gnome doesn't have the above dir in my path. I assume the error is when gnome is trying to start gnome-settings-daemon when I log in. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I'd assume something else is broken because if it's just a path issue, it would fail for everybody in 10.2. Did you have the opportunity to upgrade to 10.3? The problem most probably doesn't occur there. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
