I've a Lenovo T420 with a built-in Intel and nVidia card. So far I've been only able to use the Intel card, but something is wrong with this. It's annoyingly buggy resulting in regular freezes of X. Besides this, 3D support sucks big time with the Intel chip, so I'd like to try the nVidia card. However that seems far from trivial.
A brief research landed me on this page, where there seems to be work going on to get support for these dual graphics devices:
