I have been using the workstation for years, with the previous installment at openSuSE 11.1 with no issue.

After getting through the raid issues, I attempted to work to get X working (I default to run-level 3, and bring up X at the command line). I tried with both the default drivers and the updated driver from NVIDIA with the same results.

After no success with 12.1 after multiple installation attempts, etc, I reproduced the same issue on 11.4.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce: 1. startx from the command line 2. 3. Actual Results: X starts but it is extremely sluggish, does not completely render, and the CPU is pegged at 100%. Only about 80% of the memory is used for the first hour of letting it trying to render.

Expected Results: X to run with less CPU. X to be usable. Be able to run apps under X.

I have the Xorg log file as well, but can only upload 1 file at a time.
