[Bug 930688] New: missing / inconsistent translation in system settings local Italian
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=930688 Bug ID: 930688 Summary: missing / inconsistent translation in system settings local Italian Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 13.2 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace Assignee: kde-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: stakanov@freenet.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 634067 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=634067&action=edit missing tag translation. In the kde - system settings - locales dialogue, the Italian translation is missing within the tabs. That is: paese, lingua etc of the tags. Attachment snapshot with the screen. Note that the tags stay in English. Minor issue but may "brake" user experience and feeling. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Do you have kde4-l10n-it installed? (you probably do, or many other translations would be missing as well I suppose) Have you actually set Italian as preferred language on the "Language" tab though? IIRC, just having it as system language will not be enough. Here those tab labels get retranslated as soon as I move Italian (or any other language) to the top of the language lists, no need to even click on Apply... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Effectively the problem was the "preferred language". I would file this as a bug too. If I choose at install Italian as my preferred language, I would no expect as a user that this further step has to be set in order to have the menus translated. You can close this, as invalid if you wish. However I would suggest you leave it opens as a feature request because the current status is unsatisfying. A user installing the system in Italian should have Italian as language tabs but should be able to overrule this with another language if wanted. Then it would make sense, otherwise AFAIU not. Cheers for this quick solution. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
