Summary: Desktop locker shows unlock screen but doesn't require
password
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE Factory
Version: 13.1 Milestone 4
Platform: PC
OS/Version: SUSE Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 - None
Component: KDE4 Workspace
AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de
ReportedBy: malv_star@hotmail.com
QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de

Firefox/23.0
When using KDE, the system will, after a certain period of time, display the
screen locker. This period, and the screen locker, are set by default. The user
is shown a screen telling them the system is locked and prompting them to
supply their password with a flashing cursor. However, it is not necessary to
supply a password. It is sufficient to move the mouse to make the locker screen
go away.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Suse with KDE as default desktop
2. After first boot, do not touch the mouse or keyboard and wait for the locker
to appear.
Actual Results:
The locker displays but it is not necessary to enter a password to re-gain
entry to the system.
Expected Results:
Either the locker should have required a password to be entered to get back
into the system, or it should not be displayed by default (a regular
screensaver should be chosen instead) if the user has not asked for the system
to require a password when not in use.
