1) System takes long time to start X at boot, three green question marks on
center of black screen for ~30 seconds before X/modeset. No idea if its
related. I can log in via Gnome session and everything starts as expected but
Xorg.0.log is empty.
2) System sleeps fine but after resume there is no display, unable to change
vcons. Monitor stuck in power save. I can ssh into system.
100% reproducable. System upgraded from 13.1 to 13.2 using zypper dup

Try with boot option 'nomodeset', then install NVIDIA drivers.
Is there a plan-B? nomodeset changes nothing, other than limiting the display resolution. This is my primary development workstation and it's always worked with the standard drivers, until now. Also, do you know why post update, the X logs are going to /var/log/messages and not Xorg.0.log ? I see these logs from the driver: (WW) Falling back to old probe method for modesetting" (EE) NOUVEAU(0): [COPY] failed to allocate class. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

No. Not at the moment. Things might improve again upstream though.

Sure. fbdev X driver is now active, which makes use of modes provided by graphics card's VESA BIOS.
This is my primary development workstation and it's always worked with the standard drivers, until now.
You have been lucky.
Also, do you know why post update, the X logs are going to /var/log/messages and not Xorg.0.log ?
You need to ask gdm developpers. I'm not happy about this either ...

Not sure whether is a fatal error at all. I'm not a nouveau driver developer. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Well 13.2/suspend/resume still works on my Retina Pro (dual NV/Intel graphics) using Nouveau so I guess 50% survived the upgrade. Is there a graphics card (chipset) that is well supported by mainline driver (i.e likely to not break in new releases), that can drive a single 1920x1080 LCD and that supports suspend/resume to ram from Gnome? If so, I'll just order one for my workstation. I'm guessing something Intel? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
