No. Not at the moment. Things might improve again upstream though.

Sure. fbdev X driver is now active, which makes use of modes provided by
graphics card's VESA BIOS.

You need to ask gdm developpers. I'm not happy about this either ...

Not sure whether is a fatal error at all. I'm not a nouveau driver developer.
