[Bug 1198731] New: libmount: when moving a mounted tree, all mounted sub tree entries in utab should also be updated
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1198731 Bug ID: 1198731 Summary: libmount: when moving a mounted tree, all mounted sub tree entries in utab should also be updated Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem Assignee: screening-team-bugs@suse.de Reporter: fbui@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- This has been reported to upstream too: https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/15266 I created this bug to make sure that both openSUSE distros and SLE ones will be fixed once it will be solved by upstream. The problem has been discovered when addressing bsc#1175850, which depends on the resolution of the reported issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

This has been reported to upstream too: https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/15266
Argh, this is the wrong link. The bug report opened against upstream util-linux can be found at: https://github.com/util-linux/util-linux/issues/1659 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

However for TW/Factory I would suggest to start with the simplest fix (once reviewed and merged by libmount upstream) until libmount switches to mount IDs. This assumes that the simplest fix will be integrated by upstream before libmount switches to mount IDs. But for the moment, https://github.com/util-linux/util-linux/pull/1660 hasn't received any feedback. Once the new code will be released and the new version of util-linux packaged and available, we could drop the workaround (ie the notification) in systemd. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

The PR has finally been merged but it's been followed by https://github.com/util-linux/util-linux/commit/1ec32f426c0f4705ea4e6e33b812..., which fixed some issues found in the PR. So both commits should be backported. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
