As usual when something like this happens (work for you and not for me) I test it using English language. So I just start gcalctool with this command: LANG=en_US gcalctool And it work perfect! Since my default language is pt_BR, I supposed that it is locale problem is gcalctool, probably some "," and "." handle problem.
