[Bug 1140198] New: Fcitx in Wayland
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1140198 Bug ID: 1140198 Summary: Fcitx in Wayland Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: i@guoyunhe.me QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Fcitx doesn't work out of box in KDE Wayland. To enable it, users have to manually edit /etc/environment and add some lines. Details are here https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Enable_input_method_in_Wayland So can we make it work out of box? If we have to ship the configuration in some package, I don't know which package and which file to add these lines. /etc/profile.d/ is not supported by KDE Wayland. /etc/environment is from pam package. But Fcitx is not related to PAM. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1140198 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1140198#c1 --- Comment #1 from Yunhe Guo --- I read this man page https://www.systutorials.com/docs/linux/man/5-environment.d/ It seems that I can package file /etc/environment.d/50-input-method.conf with those variables. But then the questions are: 1. which package this file should be contained? 2. can we just make fcitx as default? or users should decide it some way? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
