Please provide /var/log/zypper.log and /var/log/messages. The latter might contain information about read errors from DVD. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The "unexpected exception" bug is fixed in 10.3. But still, there is no way to skip the installation from the CD, zypper would still quit after you type 'n' in the media change prompt. You have to (e.g.) disable the CD repository and start a new transaction (e.g. the update) to get around this problem. (IIRC this is also the status quo in debian's apt). This might be a nice feature, but not an easy one to implement. I'll add it to our internal feature tracking system (maybe its already there). The CD not present in the drive _before_ the installation/update is not that much of a problem, but when an (read) error occurs _during_ the installation, that is a problem (given the current libzypp implementation). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Is there really a DVD media in the drive ?
No, the media was not at hand, and that exactly was the problem, but you figured that out meanwhile. I think it's unfortunate if installing an update (online or from media) requires the installation media again. At least thet particual update should be "skippable". -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
