We suggested doing a wrapper like debian
https://packages.debian.org/experimental/xserver-xorg-legacy
but that was refused, at least for Leap.
Good, otherwise the bug might affect both Leap and TW, instead of just TW?
Not really sure what else we can do on the GNOME side.
Why does kernel-default need no wrapper, why does kernel-xen in a dom0 need a wrapper? Was this ever analyzed? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

We reverted to GDM 3.14.x for Leap since there are too many drivers not ready.

GDM is the only DM starting X as non-root. Feel free to use a different DM in TW that still starts X as root. Starting X as non-root is "wanted" Heck back in 2010 the suid bit was removed from xorg-server, but I fail to see the point as long as "every" starts X as root anyway. As far as analyzing why kernel-xen is different in this regard, I'll leave that up to those who do this as a day-job. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
