[Bug 1114908] New: zypper --plus-content does not work as expected
http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1114908 Bug ID: 1114908 Summary: zypper --plus-content does not work as expected Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: libzypp Assignee: zypp-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: fvogt@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- There are two issues with "--plus-content": If there is no metadata for a repo available, zypper --plus-content downloads it. However, those repos stay enabled after zypper returns. Test:
zypper ar -d http://foo bar zypper --plus-content asdf in qwert zypper lr
-> bar is enabled! The other issue is that "--plus-content" doesn't seem to work at all, at least for "debug" and "source". I had a look at the source and AFAICT the repo metadata is lacking keyword info, so it might not be a libzypp bug. @Fabian: Strange. It actually happened once on my system. I re-disbaled the repos, but it did not happen again. Would you please attach the log for 'zypper --plus-content asdf in qwert'. --- Please attach the zypper logfile /var/log/zypper.log (or an older and compressed /var/log/zypper.log-YYYYMMDD.xz) that shows the reported behavior. To see the execution dates and zypper commands included in a logfile you can install the zypper-log package (available since zypper-1.6.11) and execute: zypper-log To extract the log of a specific command use zypper-log pid See the manual page zypper-log(8) for details on how to read older (rotated) zypper-log files. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Of course, after the refresh the metadata is there and zypper does not have to do the "force-enabled refresh" again.
Please attach the zypper logfile /var/log/zypper.log

Could you try:
zypper mr -d bar rm -rf /var/cache/zypp/raw/bar zypper --plus-content asdf in qwert zypper lr
Stayed disabled?
No.
zypper rr bar zypper ar -d http://foo bar rm -rf /var/cache/zypp/raw/bar zypper --plus-content asdf in qwert zypper lr
Got enabled?
Yes. I do not see a difference between those two scriptlets, so I expect identical results
If answer is YES,YES I don't need the log.
I'll attach log of pid 5915: 2018-11-07 11:50 5840 1.14.11 zypper ar obs://KDE:Frameworks5/openSUSE_Factory bar 2018-11-07 11:50 5879 1.14.11 zypper mr -d bar 2018-11-07 11:50 5915 1.14.11 zypper --plus-content asdf in qwert -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

zypper ar obs://KDE:Frameworks5/openSUSE_Factory bar zypper ref bar
zypper mr -d bar rm -rf /var/cache/zypp/raw/bar zypper --plus-content asdf in qwert
In this case it should stay disabled. It's a bug in the type probing code (upon the very first refresh)... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
