This is happening since I installed updates yesterday. It's more or less a technical discussion, and I don't see an obvious solution in there... And it was working before this week on my system.
Here is the story: 1. There is an upstream KDE bug that breaks the unread message counter: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432293. 2. The KDE team "fixed" this issue by using a small dot and a new monochrome telegram systray icons: https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/breeze-icons/-/merge_requests/81 Therefore, to get back the unread message counters we need to do the following: 1. Wait or patch the KDE bug 432293 2. Delete the monochrome icons in breeze-icons MR#81 I have tried deleting the monochrome icons in MR#81, the old telegram try icon is back, but still no unread message counter. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Therefore, to get back the unread message counters we need to do the following:
1. Wait or patch the KDE bug 432293 2. Delete the monochrome icons in breeze-icons MR#81
I have tried deleting the monochrome icons in MR#81, the old telegram try icon is back, but still no unread message counter.
