The KDE team "fixed" this issue by using a small dot and a new monochrome telegram systray icons: https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/breeze-icons/-/merge_requests/81 Therefore, to get back the unread message counters we need to do the following: 1. Wait or patch the KDE bug 432293 2. Delete the monochrome icons in breeze-icons MR#81 I have tried deleting the monochrome icons in MR#81, the old telegram try icon is back, but still no unread message counter.
