The Reiser4 partition is a separate Sata type disk. Observation: The removal took some time. I was surprised about the time taken to remove the file. It's a Core2Duo 6400 so I think it's a bit high. when I cp that same file from ext3 to r4 I get pdflush at 50%CPU =============== Here are some tests i did with bonnie++ # bonnie++ -u root -d /reiser4 Using uid:0, gid:0. Writing with putc()...done Writing intelligently...done Rewriting...done Reading with getc()...done Reading intelligently...done start 'em...done...done...done... Create files in sequential order...done. Stat files in sequential order...done. Delete files in sequential order...done. Create files in random order...done. Stat files in random order...done.
