Is this after the xmodmap call? I still see a lock Caps_Lock (0x42)
Indeed, it is....
BTW, you have to restart xdm/gdm/kdm - and kdm apparently doesn't load /etc/X11/Xmodmap: http://cweiske.de/howto/xmodmap/allinone.html
Interesting article. SuSE is suposed to load Xmodmap at start :-) The mentioned file $KDEDIR/share/config/kdm/Xsession is not existing on my system. And according to my /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.common , xmodmap should be loaded: # # Handle the the users Xmodmap or Xkbmap. # Note that xkb and xmodmap should not be mixed. # if test -s $XETCDIR/Xkbmap ; then test -r "$xkbmap" && cat "$xkbmap" | setxkbmap else test -r "$xmodmap" && xmodmap "$xmodmap" fi
Apparently you don't have Shift_Lock from the beginning...
..not sure what you mean by this -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Assigning to kde maintainers. Yes, both kdm and gdm should more stick to original X11 configuration paths, we're always struggling with that.

My initial thoughts were that you had this infamous Shift_Lock behavior that Stefan is seeing. Seems you haven't. Anyway, it's probably easiest (and working with least efforts) to add 'xmodmap -e xyz' lines to your .xinitrc. Configuring keyboard should be done on a per-user level anyway. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
