[Bug 1197539] New: Kickoff doesn't show Bitcoin-Qt's icon in favourites
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1197539 Bug ID: 1197539 Summary: Kickoff doesn't show Bitcoin-Qt's icon in favourites Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.4 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Workspace (Plasma) Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: marix@marix.org QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 857389 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=857389&action=edit The Kickoff launcher with an empty slot where the Bitcoin icon should be shown In the favourite list, Kickoff doesn't show the Icon for Bitcoin-Qt's entry. Clicking on the empty slot, that you can see in the in the attached screenshot, launches the application as expected. It also shows the expected alternate text on hover. The icon is shown fine in the regular Kickoff menu structure and when searching for Bitcoin in Kickoff. It's only missing in the favourite list. I already removed and re-added Bitcoin from the favourites but this did not change anything. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Does it work in kickoff? Do you get any relevant messages if you run "plasmawindowed org.kde.plasma.kicker"? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Sorry for messing up the two and thanks for correctly identifying that. :) The icon is correctly shown when running Kicker in plasmawindowed. I also don't see anything obviously related in the log messages in that case: trying to show an empty dialog trying to show an empty dialog qml: 0 Entry is not valid "writer.desktop" QSharedPointer(0x2674fe0) Entry is not valid "org.kde.khelpcenter.desktop" QSharedPointer(0x2675320) Entry is not valid "writer.desktop" QSharedPointer(0x2674b80) Entry is not valid "org.kde.khelpcenter.desktop" QSharedPointer(0x2674e30) libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile trying to show an empty dialog trying to show an empty dialog trying to show an empty dialog kf.plasma.core: requesting config for "Anwendungs-Starter" without a containment! Forcing completion qml: 0 trying to show an empty dialog libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile trying to show an empty dialog Now knowing about the difference in Kickoff and Kicker, I have also explicitly tested Kickoff. It shows the same behaviour, the Icon is not shown in the favourites section but does show in search results and when running via plasmawindowed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Does it work after rm -rf .cache/plasm*? If not, anything relevant in the journal? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1197539 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1197539#c7 --- Comment #7 from Matthias Bach <marix@marix.org> --- Clearing the cache didn't change behaviour. Also don't see anything obvious in the journal. I assume I need to look for messages from plasmashell? Only thing I noticed is that on first launch of the launcher I get that libpng warning that also shows when running in plasmawindowed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1197539 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1197539#c8 --- Comment #8 from Matthias Bach <marix@marix.org> --- This indeed seems to be something very particular to my user's set-up. I have now tested both with new users on the same system as well as with my existing user on my backup system and in both cases this works. I wander what I messed up but given how specific the issue is and that even I cannot reproduce it somewhere else it would be fine for me to close this as not reproducible. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
