http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=905021 Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flags| |needinfo?(bluedzins@wp.pl) --- Comment #13 from Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.com> --- Well, let me repeat again a few points you are still missing: - The previous behavior was buggy. It was incorrect. So, the previous behavior cannot be used as a reference. - You have to compare with *another* machine with another sound chip as a proper refernce. When comparing, better to use the headphone output. Raise Headphone and PCM volume to 0dB, and adjust Master volume in the target dB. Suppose that the onboard chip is assigned to card 0, % amixer -c0 set PCM 0dB unmute % amixer -c0 set Headphone 0dB unmute and change Master volume, e.g. targetting to -12dB, % amixer -c0 -- set Master -12dB Then play the same material on both machines and compare the loudness. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
