And did you do the necessary change to the udev rules? I.e. have you copied /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/60-vboxdrv.rules to /etc/udev/rules.d and modified it according to the comments?
No, I did not. I have never heard of that being necessary. I guess that's the issue then, but it needs to be much more obvious, like a label in the UI! I did ask the internet and could only find one page about USB problems on openSUSE and it said something along the lines of "it just does not work"...
That's necessary with the openSUSE packages because of security concerns.
