Because of strange interactions between KDE4 compositing and the closed source Nvidia driver (probably), the KDE4 taskbar, both in KDE4.1 and KDE4.2, is completely transparent and therefore also completely unreadable and unusable. I don't mind whether this is an Nividia error or an KDE4 error, I would simply propose to offer a KDE4 theme which doesn't use transparency effects on the task bar.
