http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=986438 Bug ID: 986438 Summary: Kernel BUG during software update Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.1 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 42.1 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: alberto.zacchetti@tiscali.it QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- I repeatedly tried to install the last softare updates with YaST, but the system always crashes. The last attempt, with no graphical desktop, gave me this error, followed by many other lines that I have not copied: Kernel BUG at ../fs/btrfs/ctree.h:2578! The system then hang and it is therefore impossible to install updates. In the normal activity the system is perfectly stable. To reproduce the bug: update the software with Apper or YaST. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

A few minutes ago I tried to install Wireshark: after downloading all the packages, one was installed, then the system hanged during the installation of the second. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

So I could do was reinstall it, given that I use it for my work. If it still happens, try the suggestion and let you know. For now, thank you. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
