[Bug 1042216] New: At installation, display is extended to second monitor instead of mirrored
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1042216 Bug ID: 1042216 Summary: At installation, display is extended to second monitor instead of mirrored Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 42.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: ayikoldeniz@gmail.com QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Hello; I have a laptop with broken screen. I use it by connecting an external monitor to the VGA output. I wanted to install openSUSE Leap 42.2 on this computer. I booted from installation DVD. System messages and the installer progress bar are shown without problems on the external monitor. But when the installer switches to graphical mode, the screen turns black. I can control the mouse cursor and move it past the left edge of the monitor. I assume this means the external monitor is in "extend display" mode. I think it should mirror monitor 1. I tagged this bug as major because it prevents me from installing the distro. Thanks, Deniz -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

It works under Windows. And since the primary monitor isn't working, I can't see anything before OS boot up. So I can't go into BIOS. I navigate the grub menu of the openSUSE installer blindly. And here's another use case affected by this issue: Showing openSUSE installation process to an audience using a projector. I assume the same black screen is shown when a projector is connected. Also when I click that link to Trello, it says card not found. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
