[Bug 1174262] New: World Clock unable to add new locations
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1174262 Bug ID: 1174262 Summary: World Clock unable to add new locations Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME Assignee: gnome-bugs@suse.de Reporter: alex.doll@agdconsulting.ca QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 839818 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=839818&action=edit Screenshot of the 'add' dialogue box The world clock GNOME applet (clicking the centre of the title bar) is unable to add new world clocks in a GNOME session for a user. Only a Superuser can add locations to his shell (not to the user's shell). User experience: Clicking the "+" button pops up the small dialogue where the new location is to be entered. The typed name does not cause a list of locations to appear, so the 'Add' button never becomes active (see screenshot). Entering a location should be parsed and suggestions should appear (this is what happens when triggered by 'gnomesu gnome-clocks'). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I do see a list of locations and can add new clocks all right from my GNOME (Wayland) session. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1174262 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1174262#c3 --- Comment #3 from Yifan Jiang <yfjiang@suse.com> --- Just for the information the upstream bug may make sense here that the issue was spotted mostly on a multiple monitors setup. https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-clocks/-/issues/25 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1174262 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1174262#c4 --- Comment #4 from Alex Doll <alex.doll@agdconsulting.ca> --- Confirmed that this is the upstream issue. Moving the application to the other monitor allows the entry of new locations. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
