[Bug 1095545] Chromium 67.0.3396.62 video playback regression
http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1095545 http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1095545#c11 --- Comment #11 from Ludwig Nussel <lnussel@suse.com> --- (In reply to Andreas Stieger from comment #10)
Allow me to re-iterate: It would not be a simple upgrade, but the addition of ffmpeg 4 while retaining an ffmpeg 3 with libraries. Just adding ffmpeg 4 without also changing the 3 version will cause duplicate binary packages upon rebuild which you forget to mention.
It would also be possible to adjust the new ffmpeg 4 package to not install binaries or to rename the package containing the binaries. However, looking at the sle channel data the actual "ffmpeg" binary package is not on SLE, ie only the libs are there. Means SLE may be fine with and update that adjusts the ffmpeg package to not actually produce the package with the binaries anymore.
Actually we only need to confirm this if we really want to keep in sync with SLE.
Yes we do want to stay in sync with SLE. I suppose this won't be the last time chromium needs an ffmpeg update, so the solution should probably keep that in mind. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
