For me it looks as if the error messages "Gutenprint: Gamma must be between 0.100000 and 4.000000 (is 0.001600)" and "Gutenprint Invalid printer settings!" show the actual cause of the problem. What are the print settings for the user under which you print? I.e. what results lpoptions -p <queue-name> -l for this user? Attach the output as text/plain attachment to this bug. Which printer do you use? Exact manufacturer name and model name. Which PPD file do you use? Attach your /etc/cups/ppd/<queue-name>.ppd as text/plain attachment. Print what fails to print from Firefox into a (PostScript) file and attach it as text/plain attachment. Which Ghostscript do you use? The one which is included in openSUSE or something else? What shows rpm -q --changelog ghostscript-library | head By the way: A bit more menaungful subject would have been nice. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Perhaps there is some strange entry in your ~/.lpoptions file or the printing commands in the applications have some strange option setting? Perhaps there is some strange locale setting involved? https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=232440 ------- Comment #15 from jsmeix@novell.com 2007-01-22 01:01 MST ------- ~/.lpoptions is created when whatever (usually graphical) printing tool lets you "save" the printing option setting which you made for a particular printout. It is also created when you do it via the "lpoptions" command as normal user (root would create a system-wide /etc/cups/lpoptions). The actual reason of the problem was that either whatever printing tool wrote wrong stuff into ~/.lpoptions or you had an old outdated ~/.lpoptions which does no longer work for the new Gutenprint (formerly Gimp-Print) driver. For background onformation see http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Print_Settings_with_CUPS In the "either" case it would be very interesting for us to find out which particular printing tool writes wrong stuff into ~/.lpoptions -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
