[Bug 1234776] New: geoclue2: use BeaconDB as default
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1234776 Bug ID: 1234776 Summary: geoclue2: use BeaconDB as default Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME Assignee: gnome-bugs@suse.de Reporter: idesmi@protonmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Target Milestone: --- Found By: --- Blocker: --- Geoclue2 used to rely on the Mozilla Location Service, which was discontinued earlier this year. It would be nice to still be able to use WiFi coverage for geolocation. A successor to MLS is BeaconDB, which has already grown a lot and which is quickly expanding coverage. [1] I propose to set BeaconDB as default service for WiFi-based geolocation in Geoclue2.
