http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1001473 Bug ID: 1001473 Summary: Can not record screen via gnome-shell's integrated screen-recorder Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME Assignee: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: tbechtold@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- This is Tumbleweed 20160925 with gnome-shell 3.22 (but I had the same problem with gnome-shell 3.20). When starting gnome-shell recording and after some seconds stop it, the resulting file has 0 bytes and no recording is available. The log output is: Sep 27 16:11:50 basilikum org.gnome.Shell.desktop[2613]: Recording to /home/tom/Videos/Screencast from 27.09.2016 16:11:50.webm Sep 27 16:11:50 basilikum gnome-shell[2613]: Error in recording pipeline: Internal data flow error. With only one minitor, it works. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Not closing the bug, clearly something is wrong here, but I dont think it's as simple as 'all recording on dual head is broken' -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Aka one HiDPI and one not. I would guess that is a clue since it works for Richard on dual monitor -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

It could also be as simple as 2 diff resolutions tripping it over.
I got two different resolution (1680×1050 & 1366×768) - recording works. so hidpi (or simply the 'area to be recorder, meaning the number of pixels' might is more likely' I have seen a user with 3 screens reporting it - removing one them made the problem go away -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

and I just recorded successfully recorder a (sort) screencast video with this setup Using TW 20200622 Of course, it worked on my systemd before - but at last I now also have a dualscreen/different dpi screen setup.
